The peninsula of Sithonia is the middle peninsula of Halkidiki and looked at it from the air, lies the peninsula of Kassandra in the west and the Mount Athos peninsula, which lies on the right side. The peninsula of Sithonia is the buckling in the western Gulf and surrounded the Singitic Gulf in the east.

It is accessible from Thessaloniki by two major roads. A road leads down the western side of the Kassandra peninsula of Halkidiki, where the traveler continues to make a left turnin the direction of Sithonia. The other way is through the central area just below Poligiros ring, which is the capital of Halkidiki.

Kassandra is marked as the green peninsula of Sithonia in the preamble, which is not described without afforestation, volcanic terrain. Unfortunately, Cassandra, "Tourism Monster", and succumbed in many of their areas, I would say it's sprawl. On the other hand, Sithonia can boast with pride that it has led the monster on a leash, at least for theTime, and it is still very much as nature intended - breathtakingly beautiful.

If you take the road to the western side of Sithonia, you are beautiful sandy beaches and rocky coves of adorned see pine trees and shrubs - a tempting combination of falling for you in the clear blue waters. On this side of the peninsula, you'll see a lot of hotels, residences and camping sites, which have provided not only a destination spots for tourists, but a source of employment for locals availableand others alike.

As you round the Cape of the eastern side, the scenery changes a bit overwhelming and rocky appearance, and the villages are few and far between. The road climbs steeply on the side of the gray volcanic rock of the mountain Itamos and look at the drop below the sandy beaches, rugged cliffs, islets and turquoise blue sea is even more breathtaking than the west side. Opposite you can see the coast of the peninsula of Mount Athos and the mountain inall its majestic splendor.

Sithonia is not without its "hot spots" or without its archaeological sites and history, but I would recommend car hire, if you do not have your own car as public transport is not the most accessible services in the area. If you are looking for a dose of action, there are large villages and hotel complexes, which are adequately designed for tourism and nightlife. But the smaller towns are scattered along the eastern coast withoutAttractions and offers local cuisine in its taverns, cafes, around during the hour with friends or bars with modern music, which increase your heart rate at night. Although the area is not flooded with modern entertainment, you can indeed find a little bit of everything to adjust to your taste.

The charm of the Sithonia peninsula, Halkidiki is more for the visitor who wants to really, simplicity and a basic existence, and therefore there is a greater number of campsites on thePeninsula. It certainly is a sensational area where you can enjoy in harmony with nature, the sun, sand and sea in a sought-after state of blissful tranquility can be.
